Let’s get to know each other.
The initial 2-3 sessions are a time when I get a chance to know you and your struggles. Here, I may do a deep dive into your history and development, as well as how you are impacted by your current struggles.
This is also when we can assess our “fit” and your comfort level working with me. If I assess that you may be struggling with something that may be best served by a different specialist, I’ll let you know and provide referrals and recommendations.

We’ll collaborate on goals and process.
If you’re wondering, “Why do I feel this way?” you’re not alone. Following a deep dive into your history, I will clarify my take on your distress, your desired way of feeling and being in the world, and lay out a plan for how we can get there.
Therapy is a relational, ongoing process that can, at times, be uncomfortable. Our relationship and my interventions will serve as a vehicle for you to be able to experience yourself in new and courageous ways. Learn more about my psychotherapy approach.

Your and my feedback are important.
In any therapy process, the goal is that you can experience yourself anew with increased agency and capacity. This can happen when we recognize that you’ve met your target goal towards healing and wellbeing.
When the goal is about personal growth, this means that you will experience increased insight, knowledge, and skills to feel differently and succeed, including in your relationships. Together, we’ll assess and have conversations ongoing to make sure that your goals are met.
Experience your past, present, and future with agency to change.
This is the desire for all of us who are struggling. We feel confused and helpless about past pains, desire to feel and do differently today, and fearful—albeit hopeful—that the future may hold something different.
You’re not alone. Importantly, your unique story deserves an attuned, compassionate, and responsive ear.
As a licensed clinical psychologist with acute understanding of these experiences, I want to help you experience yourself, your world, and your future capacity differently, first with agency to make change.
