The desire to be seen and heard as we are is universal and, yet, can be elusive to so many of us. My approach to seeing, hearing, and guiding my clients towards change is informed by my own unique history and training experiences.
Evidence-Based Clinical Approach
I work from an emotion-focused therapy (EFT) approach which places poignant emotional experiencing front and center in therapeutic change. In a nut shell, this means that you and I will work together toward strategies that promote acceptance of these experiences, as well as awareness, expression, and transformation so that you can lead the life you want.
As a culturally-informed and trained psychologist, I also recognize the importance of considering you and the intersections of your identity, context and environment. I take a strength-based approach while diving into the narratives of your past and present. At times, specific needs require additional or alternative evidence-based approaches, including the following:
Attachment Theory
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and/or Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Psychodynamic
Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Mindfulness and Compassion
Somatic and Mind/Body Connection
